An infinite conversation

An infinite conversation. José Miguel Costa

An infinite conversationAn infinite conversation, a personal exhibition by José Miguel Costa, seems to answer some of these questions, but above all it raises others, more incisive, deeper. After approximately two years of research on the Cuban Charada, or "Bolita" (currently illegal game of chance in Cuba but extended to the core of the population, since its emergence in the 19th century), Costa presents as a result this curious set of pieces. With a sober, almost severe aesthetic, it brings to light an accumulation of information that circulates underground and in doing so, in some way it also legitimizes the phenomenon about which it speaks.

But this sample is not the vindication of an illicit cause. This show is a subtle trope referring to contemporary Cuba, manipulated information, everyday absurdity, the search for meaning, the economic crisis, personal aspirations, and eternal utopia. From the Jewish Kabbalah to Dada poetry, from Asian calligraphy to conceptual art; what you see here is an endless conversation between the player and his (damn) circumstances. An infinite conversation entre el jugador y sus (malditas) circunstancias.
