From the language of abstraction, Ernesto García has been interested throughout his career in investigating the pictorial phenomenon, not only as a medium, but also as a subject. It explores and addresses the elements around the universe of the painting or what is understood by "painting". Within this motivation, he approaches subtopics within painting such as: the work process itself, the random, the content, or the mixture of all these concepts, which extend to other expressions such as drawing and installation in his more recent work, in a continuous experimentation with the medium that characterizes his work in general.
